Have you seen a website with more than 100 or maybe 500 subscribers? The moment you saw that number you should have got impressed and might even have subscribed to the blog yourself. But what you see isn't always right. It's actually possible to increase your Feed Burner subscribers by following some simple steps. I don't want you to do this but I just want to share it with you so that you will be able identify websites with fake Feed Burner subscribers. There are many ways of doing this but I will tell you the easiest way to do it.
When you go to your Feed Burner account. Just browse to the code which is used to display your Feed Burner subscribers on your website. You should have a code which is something similar to the below one
<p><a href=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/frogstr”><img src=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/suniltee?bg=99CCFF&fg=444444&anim=0″ height=”26″ width=”88″ style=”border:0″ alt=”" /></a></p>
Now in this code: http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/suniltee replace suniltee with some big website's Feed Burner name like techcrunch, mashable or something else. Now your code should look like the below one if you wish to use mashable
<p><a href=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/frogstr”><img src=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/mashable?bg=99CCFF&fg=444444&anim=0″ height=”26″ width=”88″ style=”border:0″ alt=”" /></a></p>
If you insert the changed code in your website, the widget should display the same subscribers count as it does on Mashable. I personally have tried it out and it actually works. But let me tell you that creating fake Feed Burner subscribers will not help you in any way. It's always better to choose the path of truth. If people find out that your blog has fake Feed Burner subscribers then they might develope a negative feeling about you. Sources say that google is working on a fix for this issue. Let's wait and see what they come up with. Hope you had fun reading this small tutorial from me.
